The story behind the software – My preparation for mle began with  K***** notes – plain and simple . U***** came next and I realised I had a lot of online information at my disposal. Where on  one hand I wanted to make notes of the really important points on the other I was afraid that all my efforts could be futile if the notes were not concise enough for me to easily refer back to them.

Then came the idea of a software that could make things simpler .As I started preparing I jotted down notes from all the sources that I referred to including the G***** audio series , 1st A** and classified it into topics by subject and later sub topics,

linking up topics as I went. Well since everything what I had already studied was already in the software the new information about a specific topic brought me back to the same notes that I had made : for example – a month ago ,so I could easily revise .

Better still it gave me a good idea of topics that have been frequently asked so that I could tag them right there and then as :

“High Yield” .

Which meant that the last 3 days before the exam I could have all the notes that I had tagged as ” High yield” and make the most of that crucial time.

Gyrus was the first version which is still free to download at www.usmlesoftware.wordpress.com.

Gyrevise the next version brings more stability , important additions and notes about easy clinical examinations which will help in clinical skills .

It will be releasing soon . What I’d suggest is for people who haven’t worked with Gyrus is to download it – give it a try.

Your suggestions will help improve the interface before the release .
